Take up of digital platforms a key factor for leveraging opportunities in the growing gig economy.

In October 2016, McKinsey published an article on the benefits and opportunities of the growing gig economy.  But with more and more workers opting for flexibility, we see little take up of digital platforms that could ease internal resource pressure and streamline the search and engagement processes.

 

The benefit is there for all, but are organisations struggling to shift from the traditional ways of working?

 

Interesting article from McKinsey on the different types of GIG workers and the motivations that drive many out of traditional employment relationships; While holding great appeal for organisations to better flex their workforce, the adoption and use of marketplace and sourcing technologies will make a real difference, saving time and money for organisations willing to give them a go.
